يتم فحص المرشح المانح الذي تم تحديده ليكون مانحا مناسبا لزراعة الكلى بالتفصيل ويتم التحقيق فيما إذا كان إعطاء كليته/ كلتها سوف يسبب أي مشاكل له/ لها. إذا كان هناك أدنى شك، لا يسمح له بأن يكون متبرعا. كما يتم تقييم المرشح المانح نفسيا واجتماعيا لتحديد ما إذا كان مستعدا ليكون مانحا.
